This week's flu report (Word, PDF) shows that we are continuing to see low rates of flu-like illness in Massachusetts. Nevertheless, getting vaccinated is the single best way to keep yourself and your family healthy this flu season and there is still plenty of time to get your flu shot. There is plenty of vaccine still available, so call your health care provider to set up an appointment or find a local flu vaccination clinic at www.mylocalclinic.com.

The single best way to not contract the flu is for everybody to wash their hands not just rely on the flu jab.
The flu jab is a guess as to what strain we will have each year while washing your hands regularly is a means to combats many health issues.
We should be educating the public constantly about hand hygiene as a means to protect our community. Also we should legislate the requirement for soap to be provided in all schools and public toilets.
I am not sue if this is the case in the US however I know it to be in the UK and Australia where soap is not a legislated requirement in schools or public toilets.
