Here's this week's flu activity report. We continue to see lower levels of flu activity when compared to the amount of flu we typically see at this time of the year. While this is great news, it's really important to remember that flu can be unpredictable, and there are still opportunities to get an H1N1 vaccine if you haven't already done so. Check out a complete list of flu clinics at http://flu.masspro.org.

My husband and son have the flu as of 4/15/10. can this be HINI? --------------------------------------------------------------- DPH RESPONDS: Without a confirmatory test, there is no way to know if your husband have son have H1N1 or regular seasonal flu. Regardless, the most important thing to know about H1N1 flu is that the symptoms people have and the way you care for someone who is sick are very similar to seasonal flu. Make sure they stay home and limit contact with others in your household as much as possible, rest, drink plenty of fluids and take medications that you typically use to treat flu-like symptoms, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
