Health information technology is a rapidly expanding field that has enormous potential to improve the quality of patient care and foster a new sector of our economy. To learn more about health information technology and exchange, you are urged to attend the Health Technologies: Saving Lives, Reducing Costs and Creating Jobs national conference, hosted by Governor Deval Patrick on April 29-30 at the Westin Waterfront Hotel in Boston.
The event will feature keynote speakers Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services and Dr. David Blumenthal, National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (HIT). Conference participants will include governors, secretaries of health and human services, Medicaid commissioners, HIT coordinators, and key state legislators. The overarching goal is to promote a conversation in which the states will be able to learn from each other and maximize success in implementing the HITECH Act.
