As you can see in this week's report, the rate of influenza-like illness (ILI) in the state has decreased to an even lower level that what is expected at this point in the season. While we would normally see ILI begin to decrease at this time and then peak in late February or March, it continues to remain at low levels. That being said, just this week the World Health Organization cautioned that H1N1 (swine) flu still may not have peaked. So make sure you and your family get vaccinated - find a clinic near you at http://flu.masspro.org or call your regular healthcare provider.

It is nice to see that ILI rates are trending down. I wonder if everybody's increased handwashing and other germ-avoidant practices are contributing to the thwarting of these microbial pests? Keep it up everyone, way to go!
