The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) announced today that Eastern Equine Encephalitis has been detected in a mosquito sample in Massachusetts for the first time this year. The EEE sample was confirmed today by the Hinton State Laboratory Institute. The mosquito sample was collected on July 16, in the town of Freetown, located in Bristol County.
